Another 8th spot in World Enduro

After my tough race in European Enduro Series and with a crash as last memory in World Series, I was quite tensed before the World Enduro in La Thuile (Italy). Fortunately, the stages there were simply awesome, with an important slope, roots and nice technical sections. I was only a bit scared by the first stage (that had to be raced once each day) that was long (almost 20 minutes) and started with endless portions on the grass. Having fun on the bike, I could deal better with the pressure of racing a World Series and to concentrate on my riding. Saturday started thus really well for me. I was fast enough to fight for a Top 5 and had very good feelings on the bike. Unfortunately I punctured on the last stage of the day and ended 8th. Fifth place was however still possible. But day 2 was harder for me. I felt really tired and couldn’t ride my bike as I would have wished. I could only find the energy to fight for my 8th spot in the last stage. This new top 10 is however very satisfying and being so close to top 5 is a great motivation. As I won’t race in Colorado, I now have two rounds left to fulfil this goal. For this reason, I will not race the European Downhill cup next weekend, in order to rest and to be fully ready for the World Series in Whistler… Next stop Canada!
